Illusion in Sight: Fish in the Metro!
SIf you’re familiar with the space at the Museum of Illusions, you may have already noticed that the exhibits open the door to discussing a wide range of topics—even important ones—in a playful way. This gives rise to what we call “edutainment”: EDUcation + enterTAINMENT.
In other words, at the Museum of Illusions, education and entertainment always go hand in hand!!
To mark World Oceans Day, the Museum of Illusions has teamed up with the Seville Metro and the Aquarium to carry out a notable sustainability initiative in the city, using a unique setup: our UPSIDE-DOWN ROOM.
This installation stands out for its versatility. Just like the rest of the exhibits in the museum, it can be adapted to support any message or theme.
For this occasion, it was placed in the Puerta de Jerez metro station, transformed into an impressive optical illusion that immerses visitors in an underwater environment—giving them the sensation of being inside the ocean.
This creative approach has made it possible to address the vital topic of marine ecosystem conservation, while also highlighting the environmental benefits of choosing public transportation like the metro. A green ride for a blue ocean!
The themes have been explored in an interactive way, inviting visitors to engage with the installation, promote the use of green public transport, and learn about environmental threats—all through a fun optical illusion!
And you… have you snapped your “under the sea” photo right in the heart of Seville yet?
